Feels Like Home, In Evening Evergreen

Finished Feels Like Home Card.

In Color: Evening Evergreen Part III

Our time to explore Evening Evergreen has come to an end, and what better way to bring it home than to use the Feels Like Home Stamp Set. Evening Evergreen is such a rich, deep green color. It fits well with the comfortable home theme of this card.

With our last color tour of Evening Evergreen, we are pairing in Blackberry Bliss and Sahara Sand. These three colors work seamlessly together. As you can see, by adding a pop of white to the mix, each color used on this Feels Like Home Card becomes more beautifully vibrant.

Feels Like Home Stamp Set

The Feels Like Home Stamp Set, available for a limited time, is a Sale-A-Bration freebie during the August-September Sale-A-Bration promotion. With a qualifying purchase of $50, you may choose this stamp set for free. If you already have the Feels Like Home Stamp Set in your collection, here is a great way to use it!

Sahara Sand Beginnings

I started by stamping the door frame and yard stamp from the Feels Like Home Stamp Set using Memento Black Ink on Sahara Sand Cardstock. This great neutral color is easy to work into your project instead of the traditional white or vanilla.

Using the front door stamp from the Feels Like Home Stamp Set.

Of course, this image is wide open for lots of coloring. I typically choose my Stampin’ Blends for a job like this. I chose my color palette to reflect the tones in Evening Evergreen, Blackberry Bliss and Sahara Sand. When I added color to the tree to the left of the door, I pounced or “dotted” the color on using the fine tip of my Light Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blend.

Just Add Color

Next, I started to color with more purples and greens to fill in all the flowers and plants. I used browns for the basket and door, and colored in my terracotta pots. Because I wanted to keep the coloring light and fresh, I chose to use my Stampin’ Chalk Marker on the bricks of the home. The effect is quite subtle.

I love the look of shading or sponging. So, I turned to my Blender Brush and some Sahara Sand Ink to deepen the edges of my cardstock. I think it helps to draw the eye in toward the colored imagery.

Ever Elegant Evening Evergreen

Since Evening Evergreen is our starring color, I wanted much of my card front dedicated to it. I began by stamping the hanging fronds stamp in Evening Evergreen Ink on my Evening Evergreen Cardstock layer along the top edge. I varied the length of each stamping by starting higher or lower on my cardstock.

Creating a stamped top border using the frond stamp from the Feels Like Home Stamp Set.

Next, I ran my stamped cardstock thru my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. This is a 3D style embossing folder and needs the Specialty Plate to create the perfect sandwich in your die-cutting machine.

PRO TIP: There is a solid black line built into the embossing folder near the bottom, to help you line up your cardstock straight before you run it thru your die-cutting machine.

And lastly, I added some sponging to the edges of my Evening Evergreen Cardstock using another Blender Brush and Evening Evergreen Ink.

Accent Your Home

What home would be gorgeous without some cute tchotchkes? To start my home decor project, I stamped the flower pot image from the Feels Like Home Stamp Set with Memento Black Ink on a scrap of Sahara Sand Cardstock. Then, I colored it with Stampin’ Blends before fussy cutting with my Paper Snips.

I stamped the sentiment “Your friendship feels like home to me” from the Feels Like Home Stamp Set in Blackberry Bliss Ink on Sahara Sand Cardstock. Using my Paper Snips, I flagged one end. Next, I applied some Sahara Sand Ink with my Blender Brush to soften the outer edges.

Just Add Punch

I took advantage of my assorted collection of retired circle punches. I chose the 1-1/4″ circle punch for the Blackberry Bliss Cardstock and the 1″ circle punch for White Cardstock. These two circles layered together were perfect for a backdrop for my flower pot.

Punched cardstock circles for layering.

The Sprig Punch is my go-to punch when I need some decorative leaves poking from behind a card layer in an artistic fashion. Punching paper can be such a time saver from die cutting, and I love the quick results. For this card, I used the 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum in Evening Evergreen. Check out the lovely sheen of this vellum!

The Sprig Punch and Evening Evergreen Shimmer Velum along with a die from the Sunflowers Dies.

To mix things up, I also chose to die cut some White Cardstock using a floral die from the Sunflowers Dies. By combing punched and die cut pieces, my card has a great variety of fresh garden goodness.

Putting Your Home In Order

My Feels Like Home Card has lots of layers. I started by adding a layer of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock to my Sahara Sand Cardbase. Next, I adhered my Evening Evergreen embossed layer. I chose the Blackberry Bliss Designer Series Paper from the Regals Collection, using the plaid design. But before I attached it to my cardbase, I backed it with a piece of White Cardstock.

My next step was to dry-fit my punched sprigs and die cut flowers to make sure they would peek nicely from the additional layers for my card. Once I had them where I wanted them, I secured them with some Tear & Tape Adhesive. The tape will be covered up with the last bit of layering on my card front.

The beginning layer assembly of the card front.

From here it was time to add my stamped focal piece, the front door and more. I placed the sentiment below that, and lastly added my layered punched circles with the potted plant, using Stampin’ Dimensionals. My Feels Like Home Card is complete!

Pretty Pumpkins In Evening Evergreen

Card featuring Evening Evergreen, Cajun Craze and Petal Pink.

In Color: Evening Evergreen Part II

When we think of pretty pumpkins, we usually don’t think of green. But, don’t let the title fool you. What we are doing is continuing our exploration of the In Color, Evening Evergreen. The featured stamp set for my card is called “Pretty Pumpkins“.

Now that we have that sorted out, let’s take into account the pumpkins on this card. For this color combination, I am pairing Evening Evergreen with Cajun Craze and Petal Pink. Again, these are not the typical orange pumpkins you may expect. Yet, I find that these colors work very well together to represent pretty pumpkins just the same.

Pretty Pumpkins Stamp Set

Coloring stamped pumpkins from the Pretty Pumpkins Stamp Set with Stampin' Blends.

If you are looking for a fantastic stamp set to cover elegant pumpkins, look no further. The Pretty Pumpkin Stamp Set, and coordinating Detailed Pumpkins Dies, are classically beautiful. You can save 10% when you bundle and buy the stamp set and dies together, as the Pretty Pumpkins Bundle.

I started with the pumpkin trio stamp and Memento Black Ink on White Cardstock. After my outline was stamped, I colored in the image with an assortment of Stampin’ Blends.

I began coloring the pumpkins with a combination of my Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend and my Dark Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blend. For the leaves, I used my Light Evening Evergreen Stampin’ Blend. My pumpkin stems are a combination of the Light and Dark Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends.

***TIP: Use a Stampin’ Write Marker to color in the vines. The vine images are very thin. The marker will give you detailed coverage without spilling ink over the intended coloring area.

Grapevine Dies

Did you notice the beautiful Petal Pink vine, with leaves in Petal Pink and Cajun Craze? They sure do look like they came out of a pretty pumpkin patch! And yet, they are from another bundle altogether. The Forever Grapevine Stamp Set and Grapevine Dies make up the Forever Grapevine Bundle, for a savings of 10%.

Grapevine die cut in Petal pink using the Grapevine Dies.

I took advantage of the vine (no need to stamp any grapes!) for my card. I used my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to die cut the large corner vine in Petal Pink. And to add in some contrasting leaves, I die cut additional leaves in Cajun Craze. One die yields 8 individual leaves!

You’re So Sweet

Besides the grapevine dies, I took advantage of the sentiment die from the Grapevine Dies. After die-cutting this with White Cardstock, I stamped my sentiment in Evening Evergreen Ink, using “You’re so sweet” from the Forever Grapevine Stamp Set. Next, I sponged the edges in Petal Pink Ink, and dabbed some color on my Petal Pink grapevine too.

Sponging with Petal Pink Ink.

Pretty Bitty Pumpkin

Once I determined that my sentiment was going to cover up most of my small pumpkin, I decided I needed another one to layer on my card front. I stamped the pumpkin image again, and colored just the smallest pumpkin in with my Stampin’ Blends. Next, I fussy cut it out with my Paper Snips. This was an easy image to hand cut.

Pretty Pumpkin Layers

In order to keep my focus on Evening Evergreen, I used this color cardstock for my card base. I also used a piece of coordinating Evening Evergreen Designer Series Paper from the 2021-2023 In Color Collection. There are four designs to choose from, and I chose the vertical lines with dots.

Layers for the Evening Evergreen card.

My stamped and colorful pumpkins are not die cut, even though they could be. I chose to leave them on their white cardstock background to showcase them against the Petal Pink Designer Series Paper and Cajun Craze Cardstock mat.

Before I added my pretty pumpkins to the card front, I adhered the Petal Pink grapevine. In this way, I could layer my matted pumpkin assembly slightly over the grapevine design. Lastly, I added in the Cajun Craze leaves sporadically.

Assembling the Evening Evergreen card.

Finishing Touches

When I was ready to add on my sentiment piece, I reached for my Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two of the large ones provided perfect coverage for me. Next, I chose a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional for my little pumpkin, and placed that next to my raised sentiment piece, in the pumpkin patch.

Adding a sentiment with dimensionals to the card front.

The very last thing I added to my Pretty Pumpkin Card was some sweet bling. The Elegant Faceted Gems are adhesive backed and come in three colors…one of them is Petal Pink. So perfect for this card! I love how easy it is to use the Take Your Pick Tool to transfer adhesive backed items onto the card front.

Evening Evergreen and Pumpkins

Completed Evening Evergreen card using the Pretty Pumpkins Stamp Set.

This trio of colors featuring Evening Evergreen was a fun combination to use. Petal Pink and Cajun Craze compliment each other very nicely, and contrast well against this deep, dark green. My card went together effortlessly and with much less thought than my first color combo with Evening Evergreen did. To see my struggle with Evening Evergreen, Part I, click here.

We have one more color combo to explore with Evening Evergreen before we turn to the next 2021-2023 In Color on this journey. As for the inspiration…come back soon to see what color combos and designs I will create next!

Perfectly Plaid In Evening Evergreen

Combination of products used to create a Perfectly Plaid card in Evening Evergreen.

In Color: Evening Evergreen, Part I

First, let me say that green is my favorite color. And I love dark green tones even more. As I continue my 2021-2023 In Color exploration, we are moving on to a beautiful shade. In fact, Evening Evergreen is so dark, I think it could be considered a neutral color.

For this card, I am pairing Shaded Spruce and Crushed Curry with Evening Evergreen. And what a challenge this color combo was for me! I didn’t know if I could pull off two strong green tones on the same card…but in the end it all worked out quite nicely.

Creating Something Perfectly Plaid

When I first thought about what type of card I would make with these colors, plaid instantly came to my mind. I could picture this color combo on a Scottish tartan! And, I also wanted to create something with Christmas trees to represent the great greens. I pulled out some supplies…and instead of a hit, I had a couple of misses.

Paper weaving wasn’t quite what I was looking for. But I did have fun playing with strips of Evening Evergreen, Shaded Spruce and Crushed Curry. Since I didn’t adhere my paper strips, I can save them for another day.

Evening Evergreen, Shaded Spruce and Crushed Curry Cardstock, woven together

I love the Designer Series Assortments that Stampin’ Up! offers in their color families. This paper makes it so simple for me to coordinate to my ink and cardstock. However, after I punched a few trees with the Pine Tree Punch, I knew I wasn’t headed in this direction either.

Family Color Designer Series Paper punched with the Pine Tree Punch.

Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set

The Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set features a variety of pine tree stamps that coordinate with the Pine Tree Punch. In fact, there are 3 different tree stamps. Since I wanted to create a tree for each color of my combo, this was perfect. I just needed to decide which tree and which color belonged together artistically.

Realistic Pine Tree

I wanted to use the stamp that looks most like a real pine with Shaded Spruce. This brighter dark green is even named for a type of pine! But when I went to stamp my image, the color was over-saturated and resulted in a blurry image. This comes from too much ink on the surface of the ink pad (also known as a juicy ink pad).

I have a quick fix for this exact situation! All it takes is a plastic spoon. I use the back of the spoon and “frost” the ink down into the foam pad, away from the surface. When I am done, I simply clean the spoon off with a baby wipe and set the spoon aside until I need it again for another juicy ink pad. After I re-stamped my image, the quality is so much better!

Pushing ink back into the ink pad with a plastic spoon for better stamped images on the tree stamp from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set.

Fill In Fir Tree

I just knew a pine tree made up of only Crushed Curry would look odd. But the fill in fir tree was a perfect solution for my green and yellow combination. I stamped the tree image in Evening Evergreen Ink first. Next, I stamped the “fill in” with Crushed Curry Ink. This is also known as Two-Step Stamping. I find the photpolymer stamps so useful when lining up images!

Two-step stamping with the Perfectly Plaid stamp set.

Plaid Pine Tree

And, I saved the best for last. Of course, I thought that the plaid pine tree stamp worked best with our star color, Evening Evergreen. With some simple punching of each image, I was ready to work my trees into my card.

Stamping with the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and punching image with the Pine Tree Punch.

Stitched Triangles Dies

We all know Christmas trees are triangular shapes. So, I pulled out my Stitched Triangles Dies and Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to capitalize on the trees for my card. I chose the dies I thought would size up nicely and paired them with Evening Evergreen, Shaded Spruce and Crushed Curry Cardstock. In the end, I did not use the Soft Suede die cut.

Stitched Triangle Dies

So Very Merry

While I was arranging my card parts and pieces to determine the final design, I realized I didn’t have a lot of room for a sentiment. The images in the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set were a little too big. Instead, I settled on a very simple word “merry” chosen from the Time Of Giving Stamp Set.

I stamped my sentiment in Versamark Ink on a strip of Evening Evergreen Cardstock. After adding White Embossing Powder, I heat set the word with my Heat Tool. I think you will agree that the white sentiment really pops, and coordinates with the white outlines of my tree images on this card.

Putting It All Together

Do you remember earlier when I tried my hand at weaving cardstock strips in Evening Evergreen, Shaded Spruce and Crushed Curry? And how I played with the family assortment of Designer Series Paper? When I combined those concepts with my Christmas tree theme, I had a winner.

I selected different designer styles of paper using my color combo, and adhered them to a piece of Soft Suede Cardstock. Next, I layered on my ink-sponged cardstock strips. By adding like color ink to the edges of my cardstock, I was able to sharpen the contrast of colors.

Sponging the edges of cardstock.

With my focus on Evening Evergreen, Shaded Spruce and Crushed Curry, I was able to keep my card true to the chosen colors. I kept the Crushed Curry designer paper and cardstock together, but swapped the same color placement on the Evening Evergreen and Shaded Spruce designer paper and cardstock.

Triangles, Trees And Trinkets

From here, it was easy to add on the last elements in a layering fashion. First, I added the stitched triangle die cuts, alternating the orientation. After that, I place the stamped and punched trees over the triangles. To finish off my card, I added three gold Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots, using my Take Your Pick Tool. These embellishments are comprised of bronze, copper and gold, and the gold best paired with the yellow tone of Crushed Curry.

Perfectly Plaid In Evening Evergreen

The color combo of Evening Evergreen, Shaded Spruce and Crushed Curry is not one I would have ever thought of pairing together! In the end, I am so happy with my final result. I must admit, I don’t know that I will ever put these thee colors together on another project…but knowing I accomplished what I set out to do is enough for me.

Merriest Moments in Polished Pink

Finished card in Polished Pink using the Merriest Moments Bundle.

In Color: Polished Pink, Part III

Merriest Moments should come in bright and fun colors. And the new In Color, Polished Pink, provides just that! I have been exploring this sweet shade of pink, and created a card using the Merriest Moments Bundle. If you would like to see my last card featuring Polished Pink, click here.

The Merriest Moments card in Polished Pink also features Blushing Bride and Smoky Slate. This color combo isn’t just for Christmas cards! I also picture spring and summer flower cards, perfect for birthdays, Mother’s Day and thinking of you. Let you imagination run wild!

Merriest Moments Bundle

Merriest Moments Stamps Set, Merriest Frames Dies and Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder

There is so much to the Merriest Moments Bundle, it is more than the typical “stamp set and set of dies”. In fact, it is a trifecta of amazing products! Let’s break it down:

Merriest Moments Stamp Set

There are 16 photopolymer stamps in this set. Two of the images are poinsettia flowers of different sizes and style. You can layer them together or use them separately. You will also enjoy 3 sizes of holly style leaves, as well as 3 different sprig stamps. Besides Season’s Greetings and Joy, there are 3 additional sentiments for merry cards.

Merriest Frames Dies

The Merriest Frames Dies come as a set of 16. But there is more to die cut than just the flowers and leaves from the Merriest Moments Stamp Set. I love the stitched rectangle die, and I can see myself using it for a variety of projects to frame up a sentiment. There are also two large dies, designed to work with…

Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder

Yes, this is the third part of this amazing bundle. The Hybrid Embossing Folder is something very new to Stampin’ Up!. These special embossing folders are designed to hold a die and your paper at the same time. In this manner, you are die cutting and embossing in one pass thru your die cutting machine. So cool!

To Hybrid, Or Not To Hybrid

I have to admit, my first play with the dies and embossing folders was not quite as expected. It can be a little tricky to line up all three. The die needs to sit just right in the embossing folder’s nooks. And, after 1 pass thru my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, I took my sandwich apart in anticipation of perfection.

Perfect it was not. Some of the Polished Pink Cardstock did not cut all the way thru. I needed to reassemble it and run it thru my machine again. Then, once more for good measure. In the end, I still needed to use my Paper Snips to remove some of the stubborn paper.

But…it doesn’t have to be used this way either. Fortunately, the embossing folder and die can be used individually. For my second attempt, I embossed a piece of Polished Pink Cardstock (no die in the embossing folder). After that, I added the large outline die around my embossed image. When I ran it thru my die cutting machine, it was still embossed and perfect. Two steps, but worth the effort!

  • This may also save with wear and tear on your embossing folder. With multiple use as a duo, the die may damage your folder over time.

Merriest Stamping and Die Cutting

All of my stamping on this card also included die cutting. When they go hand in hand, cardmaking is easier! I started by stamping both sizes of flowers from the Merriest Moments Stamp Set, using Blushing Bride Ink on White Cardstock. I wanted 3 finished flowers, so I repeated this process three times.

Die cutting poinsettia flowers

I also stamped a combination of sprigs and leaves. For the evergreen style, I stamped Smoky Slate Ink on Smoky Slate Cardstock. For the decidious looking leaves, I stamped Smoky Slate Ink on White Cardstock. There are dies for each of these stamps, so I was able to quickly cut them out.

The sweet berries on this card add the perfect pop of Polished Pink! I stamped them in Polished Pink Ink on Polished Pink Cardstock before die cutting them. This is another process that I did 3 times in a row.

And a merry card can not be merry without a wonderful sentiment. There are 3 choices to pick from in the Merriest Moments Stamp Set, but I chose mine based on size. I wanted to be able to add my beautiful pink poinsettias in a sweeping style around the stitched rectangle frame. By choosing a shorter sentiment, there was more room for my floral arrangement.

Merriest Details

For a layer of depth and frosted interest, I enhanced my die cuts with some sponged ink. With the large Polished Pink die cut, I sponged on Craft White Ink. This gives an opaque look and dulls the sharpness to a more muted tone. This ink takes some time to dry, and I applied more than one layer.

Sponging with White Craft Ink

My pretty pink flowers also got some additional sponged ink. For these, I edged the outer petals in Polished Pink Ink, a very dark contrast to the Blushing Bride Ink. This really helped them to pop.

Did you notice the fantastic Designer Series Paper on this card? I chose a selection from the Peaceful Place Specialty pack. The tiny snowflakes and silver sparkle on this Basic Gray piece created a gorgeous backdrop for all my pink and white. I layered it behind a piece of Smoky Slate Cardstock to help transition the pink to gray color scheme.

Bringing Home the Merriest

In order to complete my card, I began by dry-fitting all my leaves, berries and flowers. That way, I was able to move pieces around until I was happy with the overall design. Once I was finished with this, it was simply a matter of gluing everything down, a little at a time.

You may notice that my finished poinsettias have a third layer to them. I die cut the top flower from Blushing Bride Cardstock, using the Merriest Frames Dies. And don’t you agree that flowers as pretty as these should be finalized with a Pearl Basic Jewel center? The Take Your Pick Tool is my favorite for working with tiny adhesive backed items like this.

Add Some Merriest Moments

This amazing card using the Merriest Moments Bundle completes my exploration of the 2021-2023 In Color, Polished Pink with my online club. When I think of merry, I associate Christmas. But that doesn’t have to mean only red and green. This pink card is proof of that.

Sweets & Treats In Polished Pink

Finished Cloche Shaker Dome Card using Sweets & Treats Stamp Set

In Color: Polished Pink, Part II

Sweets & Treats come in lots of fun colors. And there is no other color as fun as Polished Pink! As I continue to explore Stampin’ Up!’s new 2021-2023 In Colors, I am tickled pink.

Polished Pink is such a happy color shade. My last card showcased Polished Pink with Mango Melody and Mossy Meadow. To see that card, click here. Today, I have paired it with Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight…in an attempt to make a Sweet Treats card.

Sweets & Treats Stamp Set

The Sweets & Treats Stamp Set is found in the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. But, don’t be fooled. The Sweets & Treats Stamp Set goes way beyond the holidays.

Sure, there is a Christmas pudding stamp, and a sentiment that proclaims “bring on Christmas”. However, Sweets & Treats are year-round delights. There is pie, a cupcake, and a candy apple. I say “yum!”.

Just Desserts

I started by stamping the cake stand and my dessert stamps using Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Additionally, I made sure to leave enough room between images to fussy cut with my Paper Snips later.

Stamping dessert images in Memento Black Ink.

Next, I colored in my stamped images using a variety of Stampin’ Blends. Want to see how I organize my blends? Click here. I love the quick and easy way I am able to add instant color! I wasn’t sure if I wanted a cinnamon candy apple or a caramel apple, so I made one of each.

Colorful dessert images, courtesy of a variety of Stampin' Blends.

Delightful Dies

Although the Sweets & Treats Stamp Set is not bundled with the Cloche Dies, they do coordinate. And that is great value if you are also interested in the Classic Cloche Stamp Set. When you buy the Classic Cloche Bundle (the Classic Cloche Stamp Set and The Cloche Dies), you will save 10%. Then, you would have 2 stamp sets that work with the same dies.

Along with the Cloche Dies, I used the Stitched Rectangles Dies. On my Coastal Cabana Cardstock, I die cut my rectangle first. Next, I centered the cloche die for another run thru my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Lastly, I used the next largest rectangle die on a piece of Polished Pink Cardstock.

Die cuts with the Cloche Dies and Stitched Rectangle Dies.

Cloche Shaker Domes

Sometimes it’s fun to shake things up! With the Cloche Shaker Domes, you can do just that. These adhesive backed plastic domes come in a set of 10. They line up perfectly in the cloche die cut area, and hold your sequins snugly.

I wanted my Sweets & Treats to be presented against a white background, but not too white. My Blending Brush helped me to sponge on a little Balmy Blue Ink for a glass like look.

Using Balmy Blue Ink and a Blending Brush to create a soft background.

After I prepped my background, I adhered my Sweets & Treats to it. First, I did a dry fit, to make sure each treat would fit in my cloche dome. Then I glued each piece down. Please be careful…I went a little too high, and had to make a correction by adding an extra top edge of the cake plate under my desserts.

My stamped desserts adhered to the background piece.

Sweets & Treats & Sequins

If you are looking for amazing sequins for your shaker card, look no further. The Sequins For Everything are the perfect rainbow of colors. You will find 3 different shades in green, metallic, orange and red.

Removing static with the Emboss Buddy, so the sequins don't clump together.

I prepped my background by removing some static using my retired Emboss Buddy. This will help to keep the sequins from clumping. It will also leave a dull powder that may diminish the shine of your coloring. In hindsight, I should have used a dry paintbrush to pull some of the powder off my stamped images. Another thing I wish I had done was run the Emboss Buddy around the Cloche Shaker Dome, as some of my sequins did stick along the edges.

After I attached the Cloche Shaker Dome to the backside of my Coastal Cabana Cardstock, I placed some sequins over my Sweets & Treats. Then, I removed the second protective backing from my dome and placed it over my desserts.

Getting ready to put the cloche dome over my sequins and desserts.

Sweet Sentiment

I had a sweet choice of sentiments to use on this Sweets & Treats card. Instead of using a complete sentiment, I chose to use a partial sentiment.

Masking a sentiment for a partial stamped image.

From ” A tasty treat for someone sweet”, I masked my stamp and inked only “for someone sweet”. I then removed the mask (a small post-it note) and stamped my image on a piece of Polished Pink Designer Series Paper.

Stamping the masked sentiment.

Sweet Finishing Touches

I love lots of layers on my cards, and this one has plenty. I chose a Polished Pink card base. Then I added a white layer 4-1/8 x 5-3/8″, followed by Daffodil Delight Designer Series Paper 4 x 5-1/4″. My Polished Pink and Coastal Cabana stitched rectangles sit toward the bottom right. By design, this gave me room for my sentiment.

Keeping with the Polished Pink theme, I chose Open Weave Ribbon in that color. Over that, I added some retired Bermuda Bay ribbon. I attached each section of ribbon with Tear & Tape Adhesive.

A look at the ribbon assembly on the card.
The last thing I adhered to my card front was my sentiment. I trimmed the stamped paper down and added a pop of Daffodil Delight Cardstock behind it. Then, I placed Tear & Tape on it and attached it over the top of my ribbons.
Adding the sentiment over top of the ribbon using Tear & Tape Adhesive.

Sweets & Treats & Polished Pink

When I first contemplated using Polished Pink with Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight, I pictured something fun and sweet. I hope you will agree that this card pulls that off in spectacular fashion.

My finished card, with the Sweets & Treats Stamp Set and the Classic Cloche Stamp Set.
