Countryside Corners Always Card

Countryside Inn Mega Class, Part II, Card 2

Countryside Corners Always Card

The Countryside Corners Always Card is the second card for your Weekly Card Class From ME. This class is a Mega Class, featuring the Countryside Corners Bundle and the Countryside Inn Suite. What does that mean?

Get ready for twice the fun and inspiration! This class is a 2 week adventure in card making. But we are quickly coming to an end of this Mega Class. Need a few more details? Click here.

Same Blues, Different Card

If you didn’t know this about me yet, I love to add lots of layers to my cards. And the layers don’t need to be complicated. A few simple rectangles in nested sizes make me happy!

We are continuing to use the following blues on all our cards: Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Boho Blue and Misty Moonlight. And of course, we are still using the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper. It is the perfect coordinating match!

Misty Moonlight Stamping

During my live card making class, I showed you how easy it is to stamp the big image from the Countryside Corners Stamp Set once, then die cut multiple images with the coordinating Countryside Corners Dies to use on several different cards.

For my Countryside Corners Always Card, I found that the small flower stamp from Lasting Joy Stamp Set fit perfectly in the middle column of the smallest rectangle image. Want to see this in action? Click here for the video replay.

Always Sentimental

I choose punches often when putting together my cards. I find that they are quick and easy to use.

One of my favorite sentiment punches is the Double Oval Punch. I punched the larger scallop piece in Night of Navy Cardstock, and the smaller oval in White Cardstock. There are “always” a lot of sentiments that fit in this perfect oval shape.

Zany Zoo Raccoon Card

Zany Zoo Card Class, Card 3

Zany Zoo Raccoon Card

We are now on to the last card from my Weekly Card Class From ME. And this week features the Zany Zoo Bundle by Stampin’ Up!. And this last card has plenty of zany, but not as much zoo.

Raccoon Peacock and Raccoon Petal

Just like my Zany Zoo Llama Card, this Zany Zoo Raccoon Card features a color that is newer on scene, Pretty Peacock. And I had fun finding an existing color to pair it with. When I realized Petal Pink added just the right softness to the rich Pretty Peacock, I was smitten.

Once again, I let the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper lend a black and white element to my card. And how awesome is it that the dotted lines in the DSP match the dotted lines in the stamped raccoon’s tail?

Zany Zoo Raccoon Card Details

In my first card, I did some coloring with the Stampin’ Blends. For my second card, I used Water Color Pencils and a Blender Pen to color with. Now that we are on to the last card in my Weekly Card Class From ME, I picked yet another color medium: Stampin’ Write Markers.

First, I need to say that I love the new version of the Stampin’ Write Markers! The nib end (the small skinny one) is so much better than it used to be. I actually added my color to the balloons with the nib end, rather than the brush end.

And while some of my stamped image from the Zany Zoo Stamp Set is colored in, I left our star critter, the raccoon, un-colored. The black and white imagery works well on this card. After I added a touch of Wink of Stella to give my balloons some sparkle, I was happy with all of it!

Celebrate You!

Just like the first 2 cards in this series, the Zany Zoo Raccoon Card also has a heat embossed sentiment. This time, instead of a circle die or a banner die, I pulled out a punch.

The Banner Pick A Punch is one of my go-to favorites! This punch lets you work with 3 width sizes, 1/2, 3/4 and 1″, you can choose a custom length, and you have 2 punched end options. I think this punch is something to celebrate too!

Color Swap Card

Each week, I explore a color change-up with one of my featured cards. This week, the Zany Zoo Raccoon Card got a makeover. I swapped in the colors Pool Party and Bubble Bath, changed the designer paper pattern and embossing folder choice, and selected a new ribbon. Which card do you prefer?

Circle Sayings Warm Hello Card

Circle Sayings Card Class, Card 1

Circle Sayings Warm Hello Card

My Weekly Card Class From ME happens to showcase a pretty basic feature: circles. Our focus this week is the Circle Sayings Bundle by Stampin’ Up!. Need more info on this class? Click here.

It is no secret that I love circle punches. In fact, I have a large collection of them. For my first card in this series, Circle Sayings Warm Hello, I was so excited to play with a brand new circle punch, the 2-3/8″ one!

A Warm Hello To Boho Blue

This first card in my Weekly Card Class From ME also features a brand new color: Boho Blue. This is just 1 of 5 of the 2023-2025 In Colors by Stampin’ Up!. This beautiful blue is found in the Countryside Inn DSP collection. Shop for this paper pack here!

These trendy In Colors (IN for just 2 years and replaced by something even more IN vogue) are something to take note of. And this gorgeous blue does not disappoint! When compared to Balmy Blue, another soft core color, Boho takes on a periwinkle hue, looking slightly more purple. I am in love.

Sunshine and Blue Skies

I love that the stamps in the Circle Sayings Stamp Set feature sentiments and images. And I used both on my 2-3/8″ Circle Punch for my card. While I stamped most of these images in another new In Color, Wild Wheat, I also added some ink with Blending Brushes to do some quick and easy coloring (my favorite kind!).

While playing with color options as I designed my card, I tried 2 different color sets. The one on the left has Daffodil Delight and Balmy Blue, with the Small Blending Brushes. The one on the right (which is used on my card) has Lemon Lolly and Boho Blue, using the regular sized Blending Brushes. Check out the ink on these blending brushes for huge differences in tones!
