Countryside Corners Thinking of You Card

Countryside Inn Mega Class, Part I, Card 3

Countryside Corners Thinking of You Card

The Countryside Corners Thinking of You Card is the third and last card for your Weekly Card Class From ME. But…this class is a Mega Class, featuring the Countryside Corners Bundle and the Countryside Inn Suite. What does that mean?

Get ready for twice the fun and inspiration! This class will last for 2 weeks. There will be more cards and ideas, all centered around one gorgeous suite. Need a few more details? Click here.

Countryside Corners Bundle

While I am using the Countryside Corners Stamp Set and the Countryside Corners Dies for this class, I am also doing something I have never done before!

For this class, I am stamping my image just once with Night of Navy Ink on White Cardstock. Then, I am using the dies to cut away different stamped sections for each of my 3 cards for this entire class!

This saves on repeated stamping and use of cardstock. It also gives me great variations of this stamp’s imagery to play with. Want to see which part of this stamped image on used on my second card from this class? Click here.

Stamping Options with the Countryside Corners Stamp Set

While I chose to stamp once and continue to use sections of my large image on 3 separate cards, you do have other options when using this stamp set. Here is a look at them:

Stampin’ Write Markers

I love that the Countryside Corners Stamp Set is made up of cling red rubber. That is because the cling red rubber works best to accept the ink from the Stampin’ Write Markers!

To ink up just a partial area of the stamp, grab those Stampin’ Write Markers and use the brush tip end over the image you want inked. Do a quick “huff” of warm breath just before you place the stamp on cardstock to moisten the ink for a better image.

Another great tip is to have a good amount of ink in your markers (this style is re-fillable, just like the ink for the stamp pad!).

Masking and Stampin’ Spots

Another way to stamp just a partial image is to mask off what you don’t want to stamp. I use painter’s tape, but post its and masking paper will work great too.

When you are working with smaller areas to ink, the Stampin’ Spots are perfect. I have a great collection from the monthly Paper Pumpkin Kits I receive, but you can also buy un-inked spots and fill them with ink refill yourself!

**Don’t forget to remove the masking medium before you stamp your image!

Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper

My Countryside Corners Thinking of You Card has a lot of pretty designer series paper, thanks to the Countryside Inn DSP! And during the month of June, Stampin’ Up! is running a sale on most of their DSP. Click this link to check out all the paper you can get at 15% off.

Want to see which part of this stamped image on used on my first card from this class? Click here.

Lasting Joy Stamp Set

You may have noticed that the Countryside Corners Stamp Set is only imagery, without any sentiments! And because I like to add words to most of my cards, I had to pick another stamp set to play with during my Mega Class.

The Lasting Joy Stamp Set is a great choice. There are a lot of different sentiments to choose from. These sentiments also come in a variety of sizes, which is very helpful. I also love that there are a few flower and leaf images as well. I took advantage of them on this Countryside Corners Lasting Joy Card.

Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder

The Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder is part of the Countryside Inn Suite. And, it was the part of the suite that made the whole thing go on backorder for a short time!

What’s so special about this particular embossing folder? Let’s dive into some of this one’s features!

Floral Blossoms

This embossing folder is generic enough to use for lots of your cardmaking. It has a bit of a floral look to it, and to be honest, there are not a lot of embossing folders in the Annual Catalog that cover this feature.

Old Fashioned Wallpaper

Another awesome thing about this embossing folder is that it has the retro look of very old wallpaper. That makes this folder an instant classic!

Standard Embossing Folder

This embossing folder falls into the standard category. That means you will use it sandwiched between 2 regular acrylic plates when embossing. You won’t need a specialty 3D style plate for this one!

Orientation

With this embossing folder, you can use it in the landscape or portrait position. It will look great either way! This adds to the folder’s versatility!

A Blend of Birthday Wishes

For this Countryside Corners Birthday Wishes Card, I did a bit of ink blending. Besides the blending of ink into the top and bottom of my embossed piece, I also added ink to a plain piece of Boho Blue Cardstock.

In order to make my plain cardstock stand out, I started with Night of Navy Ink and a Blending Brush along the bottom third of my cardstock. Next, I added Boho Blue Ink with another Blending Brush from the top downward. I always keep a small section plain in the middle. This helps to show the contrast of ink colors.

Countryside Inn Mega Class, Part I

Countryside Inn Suite

Countryside Inn Mega Class, Part I

Welcome to your Countryside Inn Mega Class, Part I! This week, I am using the Countryside Corners Bundle by Stampin’ Up!. This bundle is a brand new release in the 2023-2024 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. Missed the live card class? Click this link for the video replay!

Did you know that when you purchase a bundle, you automatically save 10%? When in doubt, buy the bundle. Nothing is more irritating than buying just the stamps or just the punch (or dies) and going back later to purchase the other half of the bundle.

The Countryside Corners Bundle

Are you looking for something that will go with absolutely everything when it comes to stamping and die cutting? If so, the Countryside Corners Bundle is perfect!

Countryside Corners Stamp Set

The Countryside Corners Stamp Set is cling red rubber. What may surprise you, though, is that instead of individual stamps for each rectangular cornered design, there is only 1 stamp in this set.

I shared some work-arounds on how to use this stamp set, along with the coordinating Countryside Corners Dies during my live card making class.

Countryside Corners Dies

I love good, nesting style dies. The Countryside Corners Dies are just that, too. Not only are you able to die cut the stamped images from the Countryside Corners Stamp Set, you can also use these dies with cardstock and other designer series paper as well.

Countryside Inn DSP

I just love the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper! These gorgeous blue tones are peaceful and perfect, but on closer look they are also playful! Check out the critters that blend into the background of several prints in this pack.

If animal prints aren’t your thing, don’t worry! The opposite sides of the papers are plain and simple, and oh-so-easy to use.

Zany Zoo Raccoon Card

Zany Zoo Card Class, Card 3

Zany Zoo Raccoon Card

We are now on to the last card from my Weekly Card Class From ME. And this week features the Zany Zoo Bundle by Stampin’ Up!. And this last card has plenty of zany, but not as much zoo.

Want to see another card in beautiful, bright and fun colors using the Zany Zoo Bundle? Click here for a laughable llama lady!

Raccoon Peacock and Raccoon Petal

Just like my Zany Zoo Llama Card, this Zany Zoo Raccoon Card features a color that is newer on scene, Pretty Peacock. And I had fun finding an existing color to pair it with. When I realized Petal Pink added just the right softness to the rich Pretty Peacock, I was smitten.

Once again, I let the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper lend a black and white element to my card. And how awesome is it that the dotted lines in the DSP match the dotted lines in the stamped raccoon’s tail?

Zany Zoo Raccoon Card Details

In my first card, I did some coloring with the Stampin’ Blends. For my second card, I used Water Color Pencils and a Blender Pen to color with. Now that we are on to the last card in my Weekly Card Class From ME, I picked yet another color medium: Stampin’ Write Markers.

First, I need to say that I love the new version of the Stampin’ Write Markers! The nib end (the small skinny one) is so much better than it used to be. I actually added my color to the balloons with the nib end, rather than the brush end.

And while some of my stamped image from the Zany Zoo Stamp Set is colored in, I left our star critter, the raccoon, un-colored. The black and white imagery works well on this card. After I added a touch of Wink of Stella to give my balloons some sparkle, I was happy with all of it!

Celebrate You!

Just like the first 2 cards in this series, the Zany Zoo Raccoon Card also has a heat embossed sentiment. This time, instead of a circle die or a banner die, I pulled out a punch.

The Banner Pick A Punch is one of my go-to favorites! This punch lets you work with 3 width sizes, 1/2, 3/4 and 1″, you can choose a custom length, and you have 2 punched end options. I think this punch is something to celebrate too!

Color Swap Card

Each week, I explore a color change-up with one of my featured cards. This week, the Zany Zoo Raccoon Card got a makeover. I swapped in the colors Pool Party and Bubble Bath, changed the designer paper pattern and embossing folder choice, and selected a new ribbon. Which card do you prefer?
